Bob Snead Street Dedication Ceremony

On Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM MT, El Paso County will hold a street dedication ceremony in honor of Bob Snead, distinguished El Paso artist, actor, business owner, historian, and decorated war veteran. The dedication will designate Bob Snead Dr in his honor, a fitting tribute to a man whose life embodied service, art, and devotion to the El Paso community.

Bob Snead served more than 30 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer Four after a distinguished career as a combat aviator. He earned numerous decorations including three Purple Hearts for his service in Vietnam.

Following his military career, Mr. Snead made his home in El Paso, where he became a celebrated artist and historian. His paintings, many depicting the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and his one-man theatrical production about the life of Lt. Henry Ossian Flipper, brought long-overdue recognition to the contributions of Black soldiers in the American West.
